Hadassah nodded respectfully at the black squirrel and smiled as the hare hopped up behind him. She threw Cinder a smile as well. Things were finally starting to happen. She was a little disappointed, as Jena had been that it wasn't a fox or a bear or something more interesting but still they were new creatures who lead lives in completely different and interesting places. She was just as excited to learn about them as she had been about meeting her cousin.
And here he was. Seth waved at her and she waved back smiling. She saw him searching the crowd and wondered if he'd caught sight of Jena yet. They'd seemed to be quite taken with each other a couple of nights ago. Hadassah also looked around for the squirrelmaid and found her on the other side of the clearing carrying her tray. She frowned at her friend's smile and followed her gaze to the new squirrel. Then she glanced back at Seth.
Hadassah sighed wishing she could do something about the situation, knowing that somebeast was likely to get hurt if Jena got herself caught up in a triangle.
But then something happened that completely distracted Hadassah. Her eyes grew wide as another creature entered the clearing.

Tess strode up slightly out of breath. The big badger had been hurrying to catch up with Lila. Her young charge seemed always to be several hops ahead of her. Tess looked around and spotted the young haremaid, ready to reprimand her for rushing ahead, when she saw that she was in the presence of the court.
The badgermaid curtsied elegantly for one of her size and addressed the royal couple, "Felicitations your Majesties."
She tried to keep her attention respectfully upon the squirrels but her gaze continually flitted over to Lila to make sure she was behaving herself.

Seth moved through the crowd with ease, having much practice in busy city streets. He caught sight of Jena briefly, and headed in her general direction, wanting to talk with her again about, well... whatever. He did not, however, see her smile at the other squirrel. As he moved through the crowd, he caught sight of a group appraoching them, a most unusual one, comprised of 'verminous' characters.

Prince Martin Artek idly brushed off his royal robe as he walked through the group, surrounded by four hooded beasts, their cloaks disguising their faces as well as their weapons. Obviously a bodyguard.

Martin was a fox, and ironically shared the same name as Martin the mouse Warrior. Though he might be considered vermin, he certainly didn't act like it. He carried his muscled frame with a certain air of command, back straight and head held high. He had come here to strengthen ties between his small kingdom in the east with the squirrels of Sion. It was best to have a footpaw in the neutral territories, just in case this feud between the bears became disasterous. That way, his and their kingdom could stand as Londar and Cyrius ripped each other to bits on some distant battlefield. He approaches Cinder and Hadassah, bowing elegantly.

"Your majesties." He spoke as if he were adressing a superior rather than an equal. (It was just good form in their court.) "Might I introduce myself...? I don't think we've met before."

Samson strode into the clearing. He had been able to hear the noise from the gathering from a fair distance away. He had also met a very kind squirrel on guard at the edge of the grove who directed him in the right direction.
Samson was alone for a change, Holly was out on another mission but he had been assured that she would make an appearance here when that was over.
He spotted the King and Queen up ahead and made his way toward them to introduce himself as an ambassador from Castle Lutra. He was so intent on watching where he was going however that as he was making his way forward through the crowd he walked straight into Prince Artek's party. Managing to fall over after bashing heads with one of his bodyguards.

Samson picked himself up off the floor and turned to the hooded beast.
"You should pay more attention to where your bally walking old chum." Samson burst out, "You could have done some serious damage bumping some beast with a blinkin hard noggin like that."
Samson reached out to tap the other beasts head pointedly.

"Who have we here then?" he asked pointedly, forgetting he was not back at the castle.

Lila had been watching the king and queen make eyes at each other dreamily so it was with this mindset that she first caught sight of the male hare who had just stumbled into the clearing. Her eyelashes were instantly set to fluttering and all pretense of her being in that place on business was thrown out the window. She didn't care who this creature was allied to. She was determined to meet him.
Without even looking back to see if Tess might still be following her she slipped through the crowd towards him. She cleared her throat prettily when she got close enough to draw attention to herself. Still fluttering her eyelashes and twirling one ear about her paw (the charcoal stick that had been behind it fell to the grass forgotten), she smiled at him shyly and said, "Hi."

The bodyguard growled, and grabbed Samson's paw before it had a chance to touch him. Under the cloak was a ferret, snarling in distaste. "Why don't you mind your manners, longears? It isn't wise to interfere with the East." He shoved the hare back gently, so as to not cause a stir, though the ferret's tone and body language told everyone around him that he would've gutted the beast on the spot if he was allowed to.

Meanwhile, Seth was working his way through the crowd until he was within reasonable distance of Jena. He then waved casually as he approached, seeking conversation after the last few days he spent alone wandering about the village. "Uh, hey, Jena. How're you?"

"Seth!" Jena jumped and spun around to face the source of the voice that had called her name. One of the pastries flew off her tray. Her eyes were wide and she was blushing slightly at her earlier thought about the black squirrel. It was a good thing Seth couldn't read her mind.
She composed herself quickly and smiled, "Hi, I'm good, busy, but good. How are you?"

Samson swayed back slightly when the ferret pushed him before coming back into a balanced posture. He would have liked to have fought with this ferret but now was neither the time nor the place for a fight.
"Alright don't get your bally ears in a twist wot!"

Hearing a cough from behind him he turned. His eyes widened when he saw a pretty haremaid standing there.
"Well hello there pretty miss, how are you on such a fine day as this?"
He bowed down and made to kiss the haremaid's paw in an elegant manor.
